How do I choose my currency?
When donating to a Franklin Switzerland, you can choose from one of five currencies in the drop down menu.
If your chosen currency isn't listed, you'll need to work out how much you want to donate in one of the five available currencies, a currency conversion website can help with this.
Your bank or credit card company may charge extra fees for international transactions. You should contact them for more information on this.
I'm having trouble donating
If you reached an error message while donating or you're having trouble completing the 'Verified by Visa' or 'MasterCard SecureCode' stage, there are a few things you can try:
Your browsing history is a list of the websites you've visited, a cookie is a file stored on your computer telling us who you are. Clearing your browsing history and cookies removes any error loops that may be stuck in your browser.
To clear this data when using Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox please hold down Ctrl + shift + Delete at the same time, please do not have JustGiving open at all when you do this. This will open a window prompting you to 'Delete', 'Clear Browsing Data' or 'Clear Now'. Please clear your history, cookies and cache, and make sure you clear your entire history rather than just from the past hour or day.
If you're using a Mac, to clear your website data please follow these steps:
1. Open Safari on any website aside from JustGiving
2. Click ‘Safari', this is in the top left hand corner
3. Select ‘Reset safari’
4. Please tick 'Clear history’, ‘Remove all website data’ and ‘Close all Safari windows’ and press 'Reset'
If you see a blank screen when you reach the 'Verified by Visa' or 'MasterCard SecureCode' stage, you'll need to amend the settings in your browser to enable third party cookies. This allows your bank to step in and authorise the donation.
Check that third party cookies are enabled by going to the 'History' or 'Internet Options' setting in your browser.
If you're unsure of your password at this stage of the process, you'll need to follow the onscreen instructions to reset your details with the bank or contact them directly.
Particularly if you're donating from a work computer, the security package may be preventing us from processing the donation.
If you continue to have problems, please let JustGiving know your email address, the browser that you're using and the web address of the page you'd like to donate to and we'll try to resolve the problem ASAP.
What happens if my donation is rejected?
If your donation is rejected, we haven't been able to take your payment and you've not been charged.
We'll let you know if your donation has been rejected once you've entered your details and completed the verification step. We'll also send you an email explaining that you'll need to try again.
Here are some things that might help prevent this from happening a second time:
Make sure you've entered your 16 digit card number and expiry date correctly.
If you have any saved cards in your account, the details may have been stored wrongly somewhere along the way. Log into your account and click on your name in the top right hand corner of the screen. Click on 'Your Details' and 'Edit your cards'. Select 'Remove' and 'Finish' alongside the card you're trying to donate with. Now re-visit the fundraising page and enter your details manually, saving if you've entered everything correctly.
If your donation is rejected a second time after trying the above, it's probably best to contact your card provider. We're never told the reason as to why a card would be declined, but they'll be able to help.
